EXP Client Firmenich Achieves CDP’s Triple “A” Second Consecutive Year

February 4, 2020, | New York, New York – Firmenich S.A., the world’s largest privately-owned fragrance and flavor company announced yesterday, that they are the only company in its industry to have achieved a triple “A” ranking for Climate Change, Water Security, and Forests for two years in a row. The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) “A” was achieved this year by only six companies worldwide out of more than 8,400 assessed.

CDP assesses companies from A to D-, on the comprehensiveness of their disclosure, awareness, management, and leadership of environmental risks.  In 2018, CDP evolved their process and approach to disclosure by updating their scoring methodology in response to market needs and urgency of ecological challenges that face the world. The full list of companies that made this year’s CDP A-List is available here.

We are immensely proud to be amongst the very few companies who have achieved CDP triple “A” for the second year in a row, stated Firmenich’s CEO, Gilbert Ghostine on their press release, “Ever since we made our first public environmental commitment three decades ago, we have been constantly challenging ourselves to keep making a real difference in global sustainable business. I would like to acknowledge the exceptional people at Firmenich that ensure we continue to lead in environmental management.

With environmental management programs embedded in our business, and active partnerships across our supply chain, we are accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable global economy, commented Neil McFarlane, Firmenich’s Senior Vice President, Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment on their press release, “Our teams are working hard on our journey towards zero impact and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with CDP.”

“We congratulate Firmenich on this outstanding achievement two years in a row,” stated Sree Velicheti, CEO of EXP, “We are proud to be a partner with an organization that shows such exemplary level of commitment to sustainability excellence and continues to inspire as an industry leader. ”

Over 8,400 companies with over 50% of global market capitalization disclosed environmental data through CDP in 2019. This is in addition to the over 920 cities, states and regions who disclosed, making CDP’s platform one of the richest sources of information globally on how companies and governments are driving environmental change.
