January 23, 2020 – New York, NY – A new coronavirus was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China by Chinese authorities. This virus has resulted in hundreds of cases in China, with growing number of cases being identified in countries worldwide. On January 21, 2020, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed the first case of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the state of Washington, in a patient who recently returned from Wuhan.
