Massive Explosion at Didion Milling Plant

Massive Explosion at Didion Milling Plant

June 1, 2017 – New York, NY – A large explosion has occurred in the rural village of Cambria, located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin, where a  corn milling plant was engulfed in flames early this morning.

As reported from CBS News, it appeared that the cause of the blaze was unknown, with multiple casualties that resulted from the Didion Milling plant explosion early Thursday morning.

One of the employees at the plant, Nayeli Hernandez stated, “I got a phone call from my brother. I called a coworker who is another lab tech. They were trapped inside. A big explosion happened, then everything just collapsed.”

Out of the numerous injuries, a man who was killed in the blast has a 13-month-old baby with his girlfriend, who were present when notified of his death.

A representative of Didion,  told reporters on the scene that the cause of the explosion was under investigation, yielding more questions than answers.

The plant that was affected by the blast, was Didion’s mill that processes corn by-products, not their ethanol plant, which are located across the street.

At this time, hundreds of local homes and businesses are without power, also, all schools are closed for Thursday due to the blast.
